Abstract

More than 20 000 EST sequences of poplar were clustered and stringent filters were used to identify reliable candidate SNPs.Sequences analysis indicated that totally 94 candidate SNPs were found. The main types of substitutions among candidate SNPs were A/G,C/T and other types, which accounted for 32.98%,13.83%,and 53.20%,respectively.Resequencing with 6 samples for 20 candidate SNPs showed that 13 candidate SNPs were verified, accounting for 65%.And among them,11 SNPs were substitution type and the other 2 SNPs were heterozygous type. The detailed information about these candidate SNPs would provide a basis for further marker identification and application.
