Abstract
That the Variations for Orchestra,Op.31 is the first and only one orchestra work composed by Schoenberg with the twelve notes technique.The basic principle of orchestration for serial of twelve notes music in the work stressed not only the pitch equality,even the timbre equality,but also offered it with diversification of timbre,which is the typical feature of the orchestra composition.
