Abstract
Objective To explore the epidemiological characteristics of bacillary dysentery in Suzhou Industrial Park,so as to provide scientific basis for dysentery control. Methods Descriptive epidemiology was applied to analyze the data of bacillary dysentery in Suzhou Industrial Park during 2005-2009.Results The average incidence rate was 29.77 per 100 000.The incidence peak appeared from July to October.Workers, children and students were the majority. The area, which was of poor hygienic condition and with more floating population, had higher morbidity. Conclusions Prevention and control of bacillary dysentery should be strengthened, especially among the floating population, children and students.Furthermore, epidemic surveillance, health education, food inspection and environment hygiene should be improved.
