Efficacy of TGP in the treatment of ankylosing spondylitis

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safeness of TGP in the treatment of ankyolsing spondylitis (AS).Methods The randomized,double blind trial was used for three months.All patients were randomly divided into two groups:treatment group(TG) with 30 subjects(normal treatment plus TGP,the dose of TGP:3 tablest of each time,third daily);Control group(CG) with 30 subjects(normal treatment plus placebo,2 tablets of each time,third daily).Results Before and after treatment,the three index of peripheral joint pain,BASFL,fingertip to floor were significant difference between two groups;The test results indicated that TGP had no significant effect on the function of liver and kidney,blood picture;The efficient rate of overall assessment in TG was higher than that in CG,but there were not significant difference between the two groups.The main side effect in the two groups was digestive system symptom,the occurrence rate of side effect in TG was 16.7%,CG was 13.3%,there were not significant difference between two groups.Conclusion TGP has the effect on anti inflammatory,analgesic,double immune regulation.Side effects are less and slight.The patients have better tolerated to TGP.Especially to muscle pain,TGP seems to be more advantage than other drugs.TGP can be a long term to combine with other drugs to treat AS as adujvant therapy.
