Analyzing Components of Essential Oil of Rosmarinus officinalis L.

Abstract

Essential oil was extracted from the leaves of Rosmarinus officinalis L.using steam distillation.The chemical components of the essential oil were analyzed by GC-MS,the direct essential oil gained by oil-water separation and the extractive essential oil gained by petroleum ether extraction was analyzed by GC-MS either.In direct oil 42 peaks were separated by GC and 41 were identified by MS with NITS mass standard data,representing 99.54% of the total direct essential oil.In extractive oil 37 peaks were separated and 33 were identified,representing 91.82% of the total extractive essential oil.The components of two kinds of essential oil partly are the same,the same components representing 70.00% of the total essential oil.57components were identified in all,representing 98.57% of the total essential oil.
