Abstract
Through organic carbon content, chloroform bitumen 'A' content and vitrinite reflectivity, the authors synthetically estimate the developed status of the area in Upper Paleozoic about source rocks thickness, organic abundance, organic type and the thermal evolution according to the geochemistry analysis on the hydrocarbon source rocks.Researches indicate that Shanxi and Taiyuan Formations are most developed.Although the source rocks of Shanxi Formation is thinner than that of Taiyuan Formation but it has a better organic abundance. The kerogen type is not good that the sum of non-hydrocarbon and asphaltene are more than 60% on most samples of the area and embody in decayed plant type, and the hydrocarbon source rocks enter the mature stage that the vitrinite reflectivity lies between 0.456% and 1.81%.
