Abstract

This paper gives a brief introduction to the newlyarising inter-disciplinary subject, fractal, which is considered as one of the most important parts of non-linear science.First of all, this paper traces back the history of fractal development;then briefly introduces its research object as well as the concept of the research instrument of fractal, the fractal dimension;and finally, throws light on the future of fractal development.
