Abstract
Electricity price in electricity market is strongly fluctuant, so it is important to supervise and adjust the electricity price. After giving the definition of the percentage of system surplus capacity (SSCP) and using the data from Zhejiang electricity market, the influence of (SSCP) on electricity price is analyzed. Analysis results show that when SSCP is less than the threshold of 8% the electricity price will be easily ascended, and when SSCP is more than the threshold of 40%, electricity price will obviously be too low, at this moment the electricity price is usually lower than the variable cost of most power plants. In addition, the upper and lower limits of the electricity price are further defined, and the method to adjust the electricity price by upper and lower electricity price is presented.
