Abstract

The sedimentary facies of Baijiantan Formation in the XX Area was studied by using core observation, rock thin section analysis, integral logging data and particle size analysis. It was considered that a set of lacustrine-meandering river delta sedimentary systems were developed in Baijiantan Formation. The sedimentary microfacies were identified including the underwater distributary channel, channel mouth bar, interbranch channel facies, predelta clay, shallow lake mud and shallow-lake bar sedimentary microfacies.Based on the analysis of distribution characteristics of sedimentary microfacies in plane and its evolution of the process,it is considered that during Baijiantan Sedimentary Period, the water level experiences three stages of evolution-rising,falling,and rising stages in this area through the drawing of sedimentary microfacies plane diagram.
