Abstract

The growth of city affects the development of park. With the accelerated process of urbanization in Beijing, the park construction has also risen rapidly. In the context of ‘the Twelfth Five-year Plan’ this paper takes three typical new park systems, namely County Park Circle, Waterfront Forest Park and Town Park, as research objects, to study the characteristics and properties of the new park system. According to their characteristics, it analyzes the current situation that the old standards for Beijing’s park classification system are no longer fit for the new park types. Based on the development tendency of the park construction in Beijing, the author suggests that the urban radiation and park level can be taken as the park classiication criteria.
