Abstract
A loss model of centrifugal pump with inlet guide vane was developed using the basic equations of hydraulic pump,and the total loss was divided into three parts,impeller loss,inlet guide vane loss and volute loss.The performance of an XA150/32 centrifugal pump with inlet guide vane was tested under various pre-whirl angles and other conditions,and the loss model was adopted to predict the head and efficiency of the pump.The results agree well with the experimental data and meet the engineering needs.The model provides a fast and practical method of performance prediction for optimization design of centrifugal pumps.
