TCM Syndromes of Osteoporosis Secondary to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease in Xinjiang

Objective To investigate TCM syndromes of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD) secondary osteoporosis(OP) patients in Xinjiang,thus find out the performance of TCM syndrome,the main and special type in Xinjiang.Methods One hundred and ten male patients with COPD secondary OP were selected and investigated with TCM syndromes clinical research questionnaire,including demographic survey,past history,the history of personal habits,physical examination,western medicine clinical symptoms and Chinese medicine four diagnostic information.The severity of disease was classified.Combined with constitution and syndrome,the features and types of TCM syndromes of COPD secondary OP were analyzed.Results The syndrome types of these cases were kidney deficiency and blood stasis syndrome(35 cases,31.8%),spleen-qi deficiency syndrome(18 cases,16.4%),yin deficiency syndrome of liver and kidney(17 cases,15.5%),yang deficiency and damp retention syndrome(12 cases,10.9%),kidney essence deficiency syndrome(10 cases,9.1%),kidney yang deficiency syndrome(9 cases,8.2%),qi-blood deficiency syndrome(5 cases,4.5%) and other types(4 cases,3.6%).Conclusion The main syndrome types of COPD secondary OP patients in Xinjing is kidney deficiency and blood stasis syndrome,followed by spleen-qi deficiency syndrome,yin deficiency syndrome of liver and kidney,and yang deficiency and damp retention syndrome.
