Abstract
The performance of IEEE 802.11 DCF degrades when packet error rate(PER) gets higher due to the worse channel quality. This paper modifyies the standard DCF to enhance its performance in wireless noisy environments.Unlike the standard DCF,the new algorithm has the ability to differentiate between the two causes of unsuccessful packet transmissions(i.e.collisions and transmission errors).Extensive simulations show that the new mechanism improves the saturation throughput efficiency up to 103% comparing with IEEE 802.11 DCF.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
