The Course of the Poetry Blending with Metaphysics in the Jin and Song Dynasties

Abstract

The influence of metaphysics on poems can be traced back to the Wei and Jin dynasties,when metaphysics coming in- to being.The influenced poems experienced two stages of development:the stage in which poems were concerned solely with met- aphysics,and the following stage in which poems blended metaphysics with rational reason.Xuyan Poems with the function of pure deduction had been flourishing in the two Jin dynasties till Xuardi Poems developed withexcellent poetic rhyming charm in the Jin and the Song Dynasty.From Xuanyan Poems to Xunali Poems,we find the perfect style that blends the abstruse meta- physics with poetics.Tao Yuanming and Xie Lingyun matured in writing Xuanli Poems,which influenced the following landscape poets.
