Abstract
The mixing behavior of RH vacuum degassing vessel was investigated by combination of numerical analysis and water model experiment.The present investigation focused on the whole RH equipment system,and slow field was calculated using a new mixture model.Mixing processes are analyzed based on the diffusion of tracer at upper surface of molten steel in vacuum chamber.Results showed that the tracer mixing was very fast at first stage,the mixing in below the up-leg was slow somewhat.The calculated tracer concentration distribution was in good agreement with the experimental observation.
