Abstract
Objective: To determine the relationship between the imaging features and the histopathology of Wilms' tumor (WT).Methods: Ultrasonogram, computer tomography (CT) and intravenous pyelography (IVP) were performed in 62 cases (6 months 8 year old, average 2 year old) with WT.The diagnosis from the imaging study was compared with that found in operation and later pathological examination. Results: The results showed that diagnostic accuracy of ultrasonography,CT and IVU were 95.5% (59/62),90%(9/10) and 63.6%(35/53),respectively.Ten WTs,which located at upper or lower pole of kidney, were misdiagnosed as non kidney tumor. Conclusion: Ultrasonogram had a high diagnostic value for pediatric patients with renal tumor.
