Solving Fractal Interpolation and Fractal Dimension in the Graphic Method

Abstract
Many phenomena in nature have fractal characteristics.There are certain difficulties for the traditional Euclid space to simulate the natural features that have fractal characteristics.To solve this problem,fractal interpolation can be applied to fit natural features.Based on the iterated function system(IFS)and constructing fractal interpolation function through discrete data point,it can be proved that fractal interpolation function is the exclusive attractor of the IFS.It is much difficult to solve the fractal dimension of fractal interpolation curves with mathematical formulas.However,through the matrix calculations and graphic drawing function of MATLAB and by means of the graphic method,fractal interpolation fitting and the fractal dimension solving of discrete data points can be realized.Experiment results show that the algorithm has the advantages of simplicity and direct viewing.
