Abstract

YAN Zhi-tui was a philosopher and educationalist in both the Nan and the Bei dynasties of China.His work,Family Instructions of Yan Clan,contains extensive ideas about family education.His ideas of carrying out early education,loving and educating children,teaching by personal example and cultivating independence are still of great significance for educating children today.
