Transcatheter Arterial Infusion Chemoembolization Combined with 3 Dimensional Conformal Radiotherapy for Primary Hepatic Carcinoma

Objective To evaluate curative efficiency of transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE) combined with 3 dimensional conformal radiotherapy(3DCRT) for advanced primary hepatic carcinoma(PHC). Methods 60 patients with advanced stage PHC were randomly divided into 2 groups(treatment group and control group): 30 patients of treatment group was treated with TACE combined with 3DCRT,30 patients of control group was treated with TACE only.TACE was performed with sandwich therapy,3DCRT was performed after TACE in 2 weeks and received 2.0 Gy per fraction,five fractions a week with the total doses of 60 Gy. Results For treatment group and control group,the efficiency rates(CR+PR) were 63.4% and 36.7%(P0.05) respectively;The one year local control rates were respectively 66.7%,43.3%(P0.01) and one year survival rates were 86.7%,73.3%(P0.05) respectively. Conclusion It shows significant efficiency for TACE combined with 3DCRT for advanced PHC.
