Abstract

Six strains of bacteria and 10 strains of actinomycetes inhibiting Phytophthora capsici were isolated from pepper rhizosphere. They expressed the antagonism against the growth of Phytophthora capsici.Among them, the bacteria B4 and actinomycete A10 promoted the growth of pepper and control the growth pepper phytophthora blight. The results indicated that B4 and A10 could inhibit the growth of Phytophthora capsici by 79.5% and 74.5% respectively, and sporangia germination by 92.8% and 89.3% respectively. The mixture of B4 and A10 could control pepper Phytophthora blight by 72.5% in greenhouse, and by 76.2% inthe field after the strains were inoculated 11 days ago.B4 could improve the fresh weight and the dry weight of pepper by 44.1% and 36.2% in greenhouse, and by 81.5% and 69.6% in the field after the strains were inoculated 20 days ago.
