Abstract

Objective To evaluate the imaging manifestations of subclavian steal syndrome and increase the diagnosis value of color Doppler ultrasound. Methods 15 SSS cases diagnosed by color Doppler ultrasound images and cerebral angiography were enrolled and analyzed. Results The accurately diagnosed cases by ultrasound were 14,the misdiagnosed cases were 1,all cases were confirmed by cerebral angiography. The partial group included 4 and the completed group included 11 cases.14 cases were caused by the stenosis of atherosclerosis and 1 case caused by Takayasu areritis. The subclavian stenosis was detected in 5 cases, anonymous artery stenosis in 2 cases and subclavian obstruction in 8 cases. Conclusion Doppler ultrasound examination is a easy and accurate method to diagnose subclavian steal syndrome, but we should pay more attention to the appearance of the Doppler spectrum of vertebral artery, and the degree of subclavian steal may be associated with the level of stenosis of anonymous artery and subclavical artery.
