Abstract

Paraffin as phase change material has become a research focus in the energy storage field. The encapsulation of paraffin is one of the key techniques for the application purpose. The paraffin is encapsulated through interfacial polymerization, using methyl methacrylate(MMA) as the coating material. When the rotation speed is 1300r/min,with the addition amounts of 4 % emulsifier and 1 % initiator, and the reaction temperature about 70~75 ℃,the microcapsules having well-proportioned diameter are obtained. The structure and thermal properties of the prepared paraffin microcapsules are characterized by FTIR DSC,TG and so on.
