Abstract
Some ecological data of Apcdemus agrarius and Suncus murinus were obtained from a mark-recapture method carried out on the faimland between Nov.,1986 and Oct., 1987. The average home range size of A, agrarius was 2271±204.1m2 for males and 1841 + 183.1m2 for females. There was no territoriality in males, but females showed feme evidence of territoriality. The home range size of males of Suncus murinus ave-raged 1227±263.0m2, and that of females 241.4±50.3m2. However, ro territoriality was found in the shrews. The two species showed overlap in their home ranges although the areas preferred -by A. agrarius seldom overlapped those preferred by S.murinus. A.agrarius was confirmed to be capture-prone. The mean body weight of A.agrar-ius did not change significantly within one retrapping period (10 days),but S,murinus showed a decrease of body weight due to marking and capturing.
