Abstract

Using a method of GIS techniques combined with the principles of landscape ecology, this paper analyzes the four basic features before optimization, including spatial pattern, morphology, landscape indices, per capita land size, from the perspective of micro-scale village-level and induces three principles in the optimized distribution of rural residential areas. They are: respecting the farmers' willingness, moderately concentrated according to existing settlements, and taking full account of infrastructure and agricultural development plan to optimize the structure of rural residential land and analyze the changes of the four basic features. Finally, the paper proposes the mode of Core for One Village,One Center for One Group. The optimized rural residential land achieves the intensive use of land for construction in rural areas and better meets the needs of rural development.
