Abstract

[Objective] The study aimed to proved the characteristics of alping meadow in the Yellow River Source Area.[Method] Using the Maduo Town of Qumalai County alpine meadow as research object, based on surveying and studying plant characteristics, community characteristics and soil characteristics of the degradation of different gradient alpine meadow, the relationship between these features and alpine meadow grassland degradation were determined.[Result] The results showed that with the intensification of the alpine meadow grassland degradation, the law of species diversity index, edible forage production, soil nutrient and moisture content had shown lower.Rodent infestation in mild and severe degradation of grassland was on the performance of the more serious, and in the original vegetation and the extreme degradation of grassland on the extent was the lesser degree of light degradation and severe degradation.[Conclusion] The alpine meadow has different characteristics in different stages in the Yellow River Source Area.
