Abstract
With the chinese urbanization process accelerating, rural landscape has confronted great changes that has never been before. Reasonable rural landscape planning is of great importance for the county's sustainable development and new county construction. Firstly the concept of rural landscape planning and the foreign progress of rural landscape planning were presented , then the main contents of rural landscape planning research in china were reviewed from the following aspects: the mechanism, the principles, the methods and the context of rural landscape planning, rural landscape assessment, application research in ecology, the use of remote sensing and GIS technology on the analysis and planning of rural landscape systems as well as the presently core of rural landscape planning. And prospects were put forward.
