Competitiveness of Old Industrial Base in Northeast China in View of Industrial Mix

An evaluation index system was set up for the competitiveness of regional industrial mix,including the level,advanceability,and profitability of industrial mix and the superiority owing to sectional division.The comparative analysis of 2005 evaluation indices of the old Northeast industrial base revealed that its industrial scale was smaller with lower quality and not low benefit.It indicated that there is a big developmental space for the dominant industry in the region,i.e.,equipment manufactures.In the region,however,it was found that the restructuring of equipment manufacture lagged behind in addition to the improper collaboration between different specialities,resource waste and out-of-date technologies.What should be done now are to take full advantage of its dominant industry in competition and efficient measures so as to perfect technological innovation system,speed up the restructuring of state-owned enterprises,make regional collaboration stronger and develop cycling economy.In this way the old industrial base is hopeful to undertake its historically important mission as an integral part of China's economical development.
