Abstract
Objective To study cognitive status of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) for their own disease and explore its associated factors. Understanding of disease and quality of life for patients with COPD were improved. A theoretical basis for health education was provided. Methods 50 patients with COPD were conducted a questionnaire survey with self-designed questionnaire, all patients were informed consent. Results ① COPD patients living mainly in Hainan were aged 50 to 80; ② the patient's smoking rate was 88%; patients to stop smoking rate was 93.18%; patients with disease-related knowledge and awareness level were not high; patients needed disease-related knowledge rate were 90%. Conclusion The main factors of affecting patients cognition for COPD are education, occupation, living conditions, economic conditions, diseases and other sources of knowledge of COPD.
