Membrane fouling in the ultrafiltration of medical liquids and its prevention and treatment

Ultrafiltration is a membrane technology for separation,which developes rapidly in these years.But the membrane fouling in the ultrafiltration has greatly hindered the practical application of ultrafiltration technology to pharmaceutical manufacture.The recent researches about machanism and influence factors of the membrane fouling in the ultrafiltration of medical liquids,physical and chemical cleaning methods for the contaminated membrane,and prevention as well as control of the membrane fouling during ultrafiltraton of medical liquids are reviewed in this paper.They are helpful to a man in taking different prevention and treatment methods in accordance with the causes of the membrane fouling and promoting a wider application of ultrafiltration technology in the various kinds of domains especially in the pharmaceutical industry.
