Abstract
Tobacco seeds are immersed in PEG solution and water to determine its impact on their vigor. Then the most vigorous seeds are selected to cultivate into seedlings of four leaves below 5℃ for 1 to 5 d before the physiological biochemical index of chilling resistance of tobacco is determinated. The result shows that the content of Chlorophyll and Soluble protein and the activity of POD,CAT,SOD in the processing group are higher than those in the control group while the content of O2-is lower. It is indicated that the vigor and the chilling resistance in tobacco seedling can be improved through immersed pretreatment with PEG.
