On Metaphoric Strategies in the Language of Fei Ming's Novels

Metaphoricality in language of Fei Ming's novels is essentially to build a bridge for integration between Chinese literature and western literature as well as between verse and fiction.In so doing,Fei Ming is unconsciously inclined to Jacobson's viewpoint on usage of metaphors,which accounts for origin of in his novels.Moreover,the employment of metaphors has injected into Fei Ming's novels both element of symbolism and of surrealism.However,the modern style in his works arises not only from impact of western modernism but also from influence of traditional Chinese poetry and of Buddhism culture,which is a coincidence.While experimenting with language of his novels,Fei Ming has unconsciously inherited linguistic tradition of traditional Chinese verse.Meanwhile,he has utilized and carried forward humanistic feature of the form being dominated by meaning in Chinese language.
