Abstract
OBJECTIVE To prepare oleanolic acid sustained-release tablets and to evaluate its releasing features in vitro.METHODS The formulation of the OA sustained-release tablets was selected by orthogonal design using HPMC as the matrix, starch and lactose as additives.Based on the optimized prescription, factors(such as adhesives, moistening agents, dissolution media, compaction pressures,pH,rotational speeds and so on) affecting the in vitro dissolution were studied.RESULTS The optimized prescription was A2B3C1:HPMC(K4M) as hydrophilic gel matrices material;30% dosage;1∶1 starch and lactose. The release of OA sustained-release tablets in vitro fitted the Higuich equation.CONCLUSION The tablets have desirable sustain-release capability. The formulation and technique are simple and can be applicable in production.
