Initial Study on Structure and Regeneration of Betula platyphylla in Dongxia Forest Area Datong

Abstract

This paper analysis the composition,succession,height,canopy density and regeneration tendency of Betual platyphylla in pure and secondary forest in Dongxia forest area Datong country.The results showed that in this area Betual platyphylla is an unstable secondary forest;and Betual platyphylla is lack of young trees and have difficulty in regeneration especially in secondary forest.The Betual platyphylla in secondary forest area have a tendency of decline.Based on the this analysis,varying the forest type and human regeneration is proposed to improve the protection of the forest.
