Abstract

By taking a liquefaction test on Q3 original loess in Lanzhou,this paper makes a study on changes of strains and stresses on saturated original loess under dynamic load,liquefaction characteristics of saturated original loess and changes of pore pressure in liquefaction. The result shows that under isotropic consolidation the pore pressure will reach the effective consolidation confining pressure and the saturated original loess will liquefy when effected by dynamic load. Second,variation of stress- strain hysteresis is in accordance with the increase of vibration frequency. Third,little increase in axial strain will make pore pressure increase sharply at the beginning while in the end of the curve,big increase in axial strain has no effect on pore pressure.
