Abstract
In 2009,China has become the 2nd largest diamond consuming contry in the world. The Chinese gemmologists have been facing more and more identification and research challengings for various treated and synthetic diamonds. Here, recent development on the identification and research of diamonds in the world are reviewed. The gemmological identification characteristics for the different diamonds treated by multiple processes are provided.
