Abstract
The title complex [MnL(2,2′-bipy)(H2O)]·2H2O(1) was synthesized by reaction of 2,2′-bipyridine(2,2′-bipy) and N-phenyliminodiacetic acid(H2L) with manganese chloride in 50% methanol solution. The structure was characterized by IR,elemental analysis and X-ray diffraction. The crystal of 1 belongs to monoclinic system, space group P2(1)/n with a=0.885 9(3) nm,b=1.826 9(6) nm,c=1.385 7(5) nm,β=106.200(6)°,V=2.153 6(13) nm3,Z=4,F(000)=980,Dc=1.457 Mg·m-3.Mn(Ⅱ) atom is coordinated in a distorted octahedral geometry comprised of two 2,2′-bipy nitrogen atoms and two carboxylate oxygen atoms at the equatorial positions and one nitrogen atom of L and one aqua oxygen at the axial positions.Extensive hydrogen bonds and aromatic π-π stacking interactions link 1 into a 3D network supramolecular structure.
