Suggestions for Development of Low-Carbon Economy in China

Climate change is the biggest environmental challenge which the world is facing.As a developing country and a large carbon emitter,China starves to find a low-carbon development model which fits China economy development.In China,the total carbon emission keeps increasing,and most part of carbon emission is caused by industry.This situation has threatened environmental security and energy security of China.Developing low-carbon economy in China faces many problems such as lack of low-carbon theory,low energy usage efficiency,the extensive economy development and the energy structure consisted mainly by coal.It is suggested that finding low-carbon economic development model in China should focus on the following aspects:improving relevant policy system,developing low-carbon technology and low-carbon products,enhancing public participation and international cooperation,as well as setting up good examples.
