Abstract
Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) can induce angiogenesis. VEGF gene therapy can enhance the survival and the quality of the ischemic tissue, which due to inducing angiogenesis. If the local expression of VEGF is too high, angioma develops. This provides a good animal model for angioma research.
