Abstract

Objective To investigate the causes and precautionary measures of the severe compications on patients with hepatic cirrhosis and portal hypertension after splenectomy.Methods 108 patients with hepatic cirrhosis and portal hypertension undergoing splenectomy and portaazygous devacularization from May 2000 to Dec 2007 in our hospital were enrolled in the investigation and monitored carefully in the whole range.Results No hemorrhoea and other severe complications occurred in the 108 cases during the whole range.Conclusion Careful monitoring and relevant treatment in the whole range can reduce or even prevent occurrence of complications on patients with hepatic cirrhosis and portal hypertension after splenectomy.
