Early clinical effect of saphenous vein stripping combined with foam sclerotherapy on treatment of varicose veins and prevention of infections

OBJECTIVE To compare the early clinical effect on the treatment of varicose veins and the prevention of infections between the saphenous vein stripping and the saphenous vein stripping combined with foam sclerotherapy so as to guide the clinical treatment.METHODS A total of 87patients with varicose veins were selected and randomly divided into the control group and the observation group,and the observation group had 44cases,while the control group had 43cases.The patients in the control group were given the treatment of saphenous vein stripping,while the patients in the observation group were given the treatment of saphenous vein stripping combined with foam sclerotherapy.RESULTS The mean operation duration of the observation group was(33.8±4.0)min,the mean hospitalization duration(6.4±0.4)d,significantly shorter than those of the control group(P0.05).The mean blood loss of the observation group was(23.1±5.8)ml,significantly less than(39.8±6.6)ml of the control group(P0.05).The significant efficiency of the observation group was 47.73%,the inefficiency 4.54%,the difference was not significant as compared with the control group;there was only one case with infections in 44cases of the observation group,significantly less than 4cases in the control group(P0.05).CONCLUSION The early clinical effect of the saphenous vein stripping combined with foam sclerotherapy is superior to the saphenous vein stripping on the treatment of varicose veins as well as the prevention of infections,it is worthy of clinical promotion.
