Abstract

Three kinds of Corten-B weathering steels of different grain size with the same chemical composition were prepared by different rolling and heat treat process. The relationship between grain size and atmospheric corrosion resistance of Corten-B weathering steels in industrial atmospheric environment has been investigated by optical microscope, cyclic immersion corrosion test,micro-analysis of rust and electrochemical test. The results show that as the grain size of Corten-B weathering steel decreases from 30 μm to 4 μm,the crack and cavity in the rust after cycle immersion corrosion test decrease, the corrosion rate decreases, rust resistance Rr and corrosion reaction resistance Rt increase, the atmospheric resistance is improved.
