A Probe into the Source of Cultural Contradictions in Lu Xun

Lu Xun's cultural background is marked by a combination of the modernity and the old nationality,which are both opposite and complementary.His rational choice is modern new culture while the traditional ancient culture is his emotional preference.Therefore,due to the opposition and conflicts,compromise and coexistence caused by the extension of the two polarities in opposite directions at the same latitude,Lu Xun has gradually turned into a hard and even contradictory cultural phenomenon.As such,both we outsiders and Lu Xun himself have failed to truly comprehend his inner heart.Thus,as a cultural phenomenon,Lu Xun is an unfinished project—an object of transition rooted in tradition and oriented towards the future.
