DIAGNOSIS OF CENTRAL NEUROCYTOMA BY MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING

Abstract

Objective To discuss the clinical manifestations,pathologic changes of central neurocytoma and its features on magnetic resonance imaging(MRI). Methods MRI manifestations of five cases with the neurocytoma confirmed pathologically were analyzed retrospectively. Results All the tumors located in the lateral ventricles and closed to the septum pellucidum.Their parenchyma showed isointensity on T_1WI and T_2WI,with cystic areas.They showed inhomogeneous enhancement after intensified scanning. Conclusion Central neurocytoma should be considered when a mass originates from the septum pellucidum.
