The significance of and correlation between serum parameters of liverfibrosis and ALT,AST,GGT in chronic hepatitis

Objective To investigate the relationship between serum parameters of liver fibrosis and alanine-aminotransferase (ALT),aspartate-aminotransferase (AST),gama-glutamyltransferase (GGT) in chronic hepatitis.Methods The serum fibrosis parameters including type Ⅲ procollagen PCⅢ,type Ⅳ collagen (Ⅳ-C),hyaluronate acid (HA),Laminin (LN)] and ALT,AST,GGT were measured in 342 patients with chronic hepatitis,in order to investigate the correlation among these parameters.Results The serum levels of PCⅢ,HA were closely correlated with the levels of ALT,AST and GGT ( r =0.314 0.311 0.275 and 0.203 0.342 0.302, P 0.01),however, the levels of Ⅳ-C and LN were not correlated with the levels of ALT,AST and GGT.Conclusion There is positive correlation between the serum levels of PCⅢ,HA and the levels of ALT,AST,GGT,therefore the influence of inflammation degree should be taken into consideration while diagnosing the liver fibrosis degree in accordance to the serum levels of PCⅢ and HA;there is no correlation between the serum levels of Ⅳ-C,LN and the levels of ALT,AST and GGT.
