Abstract
For radio wave propagation in complex environments such as atmospheric duct and irregular terrain, the prediction method of the phase of radio wave propagation is studied and presented based on the parabolic equation method. This method is validated by comparison with the results of geometric optics two ray model for radio propagation in free space on the surface of a perfectly conducting plane. Finally the effects of atmospheric duct on the propagation of pulse signal is analyzed by phase and magnitude predicted with this method.
