Abstract

Utilizing bismuth nitrate as reaction raw material and urea as precipitating agent, ultra - fine Bi2O3 powder was prepared by homogeneous precipitation method. TG-DSC and XRD were used for the characterization of precursor and Bi2O3 powder. Experimental result showed that the main constituents of precursor were Bi2(CO3)3, Bi(OH)3 and BiOOH. The optimal calcination temperature was determined within the range of 560℃ to 620℃. XRD patterns showed that the prepared Bi2O3 powder was α-Bi2O3 with high purity.
