Abstract
Objective] To study the relationship of CD44V6 expression to malignant behaviors of breast cancer. [Methods] The expressions of CD44V6 of 60 breast cancers were detected by immunohistochemical method and the relationship between the expression and pathological factors was analyied. [Results] The expression rates of CD44V6 in the groups of poor and medial differentiation being 80.76%(21/26) and 74.07%(20/27) were significantly higher than that group of well differentiation being 42.85%(3/7)( P 0.01). The expression rate of CD44V6 in the group of lymph node metastases being 86.11%(31/36) was significantly higher than that group of non-lymph node metastases being 54.16%(13/24) ( P 0.01). [Conclusions] The overexpression of CD44V6 may indicate potentiality of invasion and metastasis of breast cancer.
