Abstract
Streptococcus gordonii expresses a range of cell surface adhesin proteins that can enable it to colonize the hard and soft tissues presenting in the human mouth and mucous membrane, so Streptococcus gordonii is believed to play a significant role in the development of dental plaque biofilm associated with dental caries and periodontitis. In this article, the research of the structure of Streptococcus gordonii cell surface adhesin proteins and the relations between the bacteria and host and other microorganism have been reviewed.
