Abstract
The batch experiments of naphthalene(Naph) and phenanthrene(Phe) adsorption on black carbon(BC) were conducted to investigate the effects of natural dissolved organic matter(NDOM) loading, such as soil fulvic acid(FA) or humic acid(HA),on the adsorption capacity of BC for these organics. Results showed that the adsorption capacity of BC for Naph and Phe was decreased with increasing NDOM loading amount.Under the same NDOM loading amount, the inhibiting effects on adsorption of Naph and Phe were not associated with the molecular weights of FA or HA.Compared with the single FA or HA,the combined FA or HA and metal ions(Al3+ or Fe3+) might further weaken the adsorption of Phe on BC.
