Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of plasma radio-frequency ablation combined with modified uvulopalatopharyngoplasty(UPPP) in treatment of obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS).Method The clinical data of 50 cases were retrospectively analyzed.Results At post-operative 6 months,60% cases were significantly improved,35% were improved,5% were not improved,and the total response rate was 95%.At post-operative 12 months,58% cases were significantly improved,31% were improved,11% were not improved,and the total response rate was 89%.The longest times of apnea and hypopnea,the apnea hypopnea index(AHI) and the lowest arterial oxygeon saturation(LSaO2) were statistically different between those before and after the operations,but were not significantly different between those of post-operative 6 months and 12 months.Conclusion Plasma radio-frequency ablation combined with modified UPPP is effective for OSAHS.
